Meritus Corporation, the parent company of DMS and CAMS has assembled some of the most knowledgeable and experienced professionals and service providers in the region. They are excited for the opportunity to share with you their insights and expertise on Saturday, October 9, 2010.
This event is tailored for those that currently hold a leadership position in the community on a Board or Committee or those who may be committing to serve or aid in that capacity. Please join us and the professional speakers in discussing topics that pertain to your community. A variety of service providers will also be in attendance to answer questions and provide useful information.
The symposium will have two simultaneous training sessions with several speakers that specialize on associations and special taxing districts. St. Petersburg City Councilman Karl Nurse, our keynote speaker, will address topics related to community leadership challenges during these turbulent economic times. The planned topics for discussion will include matters relating to: legal, financial, green/energy efficiency, operational, reserve practices and insurance related discussions. Additionally, there will be open discussion with the professionals regarding issues raised during the sessions along with a "Mock Board Session" to demonstrate how to run an efficient meeting.
This free event is solely educational and is provided as a service by Meritus Corporation for those individuals who have chosen to offer their time and energy for the betterment of their communities. The program is designed to provide supervisors and board members with valuable information regardless of the community or management arrangement that is in place.
